Christmas was pretty fun; we got up early and open presents, but everyone was sick so there was no Christmas Dinner. I went and saw Cody and his family, hung out with his ADORABLE 4 year old niece Pheobe, who has become one of my favorite munchkins.
Thursday, I went to Anchorage with Alisha, her sister and mom. We went shopping, which was loads of fun, and had a blast (even thought the Harvest Bread place was closed, and we didn't make it to the Celtic Store).
Yesterday was my nineteenth birthday, and Alisha took me to Johann's in Eagle River for lunch, and then Cody took me to see "The Golden Compass" in Anchorage. I've been listening to "The Compass" on audiobook, so I knew what should have been in the movie and wasn't. It was pretty good as a movie, although, if you didn't know the story, you might be missing some things, and if you know the story, you might be a little upset at how some things were rushed, skipped over, rewritten, and unexplained.
Monday is the BIG NEW YEARS PARTY! Which will be exciting. I'm bringing my famous salsa, which should shut everyone up for an hour or so. It promises to be great fun :D

craaap
So I've been home only since Tuesday and I've already gotten really really sick. Which had really bad timing, because yesterday I was supposed to go to Anchorage and get clothes, and then go to the VHo to meet up with everyone, and hottub at Alishab's.
Instead, I spent all day sleeping, puking, coughing, and being in general discomfort. I can't see anyone, because I'm afraid of passing whatever hell-disease I have off to them, which one, wouldn't be polite, and two would ruin their vacation.
Hopefully I'll be healthy again for my birthday.

Homeward Bound
So... my physics test pretty much kicked my ass. I feel kinda stupid, but I think I did okay, I worked my butt off studying. Anthropology was easy - it's easy to come up with answers for those tests. WOot.
Tomorrow (in eight hours) I have my Justice final ,which should be pretty easy (I think) and I feel pretty confident about passing. Then I head home.
I cut my hair the other day, nothing fancy, I think it looks okay. Blah.
Bed time!

It's Christmas time...
I get to come home Tuesday after all! So excited! I finished my English class, now all I have to do is study for my last three exams and I'm set! Woo hoo!
Merry Christmas!

Home for the Holidays
Bummed. Found out that I have a final on Wednesday, so I can't go home on Tuesday like I thought I could. Originally, Cody and I thought we had our Anthropology exam on Monday after my Physics exam, but it turns out the exam schedule is weird. So unless we can get our professor to let us take it early, we can't leave until late Wednesday/early Thursday (if the weather is bad). Which is disheartening, I've been looking forward to coming home ASAP, and all I have are these three exams on three different days; Cody only has two, one on Monday and now one on Wednesday. Hopefully Prof. Holzlehner will let us take it early. :S
Other than that I don't have much to report. If anyone cares, I have no real birthday plans at this point, but hopefully that will change a little. Maybe I'll just have some people over or something. Movie. Cake. Whatever.
Meh.

December !
AH!
The Thanksgiving break was really needed. Four days in the valley helped cure some of my melancholy. But coming back to school makes me want to go back home more. I miss my friends, and family and the animals. Here I just have Juanito for comfort when everyone is busy, and he's not much for cuddling. Jill and Sean and Cody are tons of fun tho, but I still miss everyone from the old days.
Right now I'm focusing on getting my work done before finals and studying my butt off so I won't be too stressed, won't have too much to do before I head for home. I'll be nineteen this month, and I DO have plans for my birthday, just no one knows what they are yet. woo.
I'll try to post more often!

A sigh of relief
I'm home! Cody and I (well, really just Cody) drove all day yesterday to get back to the Valley. Today the family and I mostly just got ready for Thanksgiving, making food and whatnot. It's nice to be home with the animals, in a space bigger than 12xwhatever to call home. But it's kinda lonely.
Tomorrow I'm gonna try to go into Palmer and see people go to Vags and the VHo! So if you're in the area and want to say hi, HIT ME UP!
Miss everyone. :D

Flump
Wow. Busy Saturday.
So it starts off with Jill staying in my room Friday night, so that we could make sure we were up in time to take Cody to his Arctic survival class in North Pole, and we were also going to get breakfast. We ended up staying up till 230 and skipping showers because we were going to run late elsewise. So we get the guys and go eat breakfast at a great restaurant called "Sam's Sourdough Cafe", dropped Cody off, and came home.
Around 2, Cody's parents called, and I showed them around the dorms, and then they took Jill and me to lunch at the Chowder House (MEGA good food). Cody was home about then, so we went and spent time with him, took his parents to their hotel, and then went to bed.
Looking back, it doesn't seem like we did all that much, but really we did. I swear.
Marcy (Cody's mom) gave me a polarfleece blanket and some nice warm boots that didn't fit her.
Today, I talked to my Alishab, and we're going to go eat with Little Katie, but not as much fun today because Cody has to do German Translations, and I have to write an essay for English (although I don't know what about yet).
Merp. 10 days.

Jimmy could not wait to get home
So things between Kelsey and I are better. We each have our own rooms now; she opted to get a single room, and I'll keep the old room, and have it to myself until someone needs a roommate. This means I have all my stuff PLUS all the room Kelsey had PLUS all her furniture; Jill: "YOU HAVE THE ULTIMATE PARTY ROOM!!" Not that sort of party mind you, but slumber girl parties :D I'm pretty excited.
Plus Kelsey and I made up, so there are no hard feelings, which also makes me feel better. I'm just glad that everything turned out alright.
AND! I just rocked a physics lab. Did all the equations with mah spiffy handwriting and awesome skillz. I am the bombenest nerd. yo.
Love you guys, I'll keep you updated :D

whoever said "that's the way the cookie crumbles" obviously didn't realise how tragic cookie crumbs are
This past week has been much less than magical for me. I'm still battle my cold/flu, and now I'm searching for a new roommate; Kelsey and I are no longer friends nor living together. I hate being cold, and I miss everyone at home.
My brighter news has to do with the awesome friends I do have - even if two of them don't talk. Jill, Cody and Sean are pretty much the only people keeping me sane here at UAF at this point. The recent death of Togid (goldfish) and Throckmorton (my other goldfish) have left Juanito (Beta), Paco (Cactus) and I alone on our half of the room; so last night I added a "Drunkard's Dream" cactus, and three crocuses to our little silent family. The crocuses are nothing special yet, but the Drunkard's Dream (named Bill by Cody), is rather adorable, although not pet-able like Paco (Bill will stab you). So here are pictures of my spikey boys, my new shoes, and my darling friend Jill, without her I'd be a blob.

ƪƪƪ your boat! ahaha physics humor... that's so sad. This is a rant about classes - nerk
Mmmmkay, so I had a great post idea in my head all during physics, came home took a nap and now it's Gone. Of course it is. Jeeze. I'm actually starting to really like that class, but I'm not doing as well as I would like (no that doesn't mean I'm failing... I have a "C", but I'm working on trying to get it up to at least a B). It's a hard class for me, I'm not really sure why, I think it's because if you mess up at any point during a problem you're just wrong. It makes homework Hell, but at least on quizzes, we get partial credit for getting the method right. Prof. Price is pretty great, he uses all his class time for notes (which he actually writes down for you on the overhead!), and he uses fun demos (one time he made a cart out of a fire extinguisher), and is just pretty much the funniest science guy ever. Okay so he's a lot like Fry and Koutsky, but still he's pretty great. Our theory on the lack of sanity in scientists is DEFINITELY correct.
Justice is fun, we had a field trip last week, went to the Fairbanks PD station and had a tour. I didn't really enjoy it because I was sick, and almost fainted at one point (woo), but it was still pretty interesting. I might try being a dispatcher one day, it's a hard job, but I think it'd be a lot of fun. We had a test last Thursday, but I have no real idea how well I did or didn't do on it. My professor (Daku) is hilarious, he too mostly lectures in his classes, but it's more of a discussion lecture, and the class does a lot of the talking. We get into a lot of arguments, especially with one guy who is convinced that the world's problems can be solved with a bullet.
Anthropology is still very very hard to stay awake in. Professor Holzlehner at least has actually started to lay out some sort of plan every week, but I think most of his lectures get cut short. And they're really hard to stay awake in. I've started to take naps before class so I don't end up taking one during class.
English... well the teacher (not a professor) is sort of an ass. Scratch that, the is an ass. And he admits it, so I don't feel disrespectful for agreeing with him. We write sooo many papers. I think it's something like two papers a week - and I have that class twice a week. Right now I'm working on a (larger) paper about using marijuana for helping to make living with some diseases easier. No, it's not just "dude, pot for everything!", but looking at the actual, practical medicinal applications of marijuana for diseases like RA, Lupus, MS, and Crones, where people deal with chronic pain, which could be softened by using pot. I might post it when it's done.
That's school for me right now. I haven't done much in the way of anything else. I've been trying to shake off a cold/flu thing for the last two week (this is week three), and it's really hard. Especially since it got really cold out, really fast. I really just want some good homemade soup, but the commons rarely has anything good, and my canned soup tastes like poo. It's very sad. I know.
Mk I'm heading off to anthropology, hope I don't fall asleep. >_<

Oh the times
So yesterday I went and hung out with Jill at about 5 - we sat about her room for an hour before deciding to go out ot eat for dinner. We tried to hit up Brewster's for some awesome mozzerella sticks and cake, but they were PACKED. So we drove around some more and then went to the Food Factory which was also packed - so we went to Gallo's, which wasn't.
Everyone who worked there either looked like they worked in the Mafia or were little old ladies - which we decided was very weird for a Mexican restaurant. We decided to get some chimis (Yum!) shredded beef, por supesto, but when we got our delights, it turned out that they were chicken and NOT beef. "Shredded beef" sounds nothing like "chicken", not even slightly. But whatever. The food was AMAZING, and we were really full because they were also rather large and filling. :D Headed back to the dorms and proceeded to chill for another long time. I finally left her room at around 5 am. Which equals about 12 hours of great times. Hells yeah.
Today I slept in until 3 pm. Tired and sick from staying up all night with Jill. And then we decided to go out AGAIN. Went to Brewster's with Cody, and got mozzer sticks (yum!) and burgers, soup/salad, and a teryaki steak thing that was AMAZING! And then we got cake to go which was so freaking amazing, so sinful, that I'm surprised the Devil didn't pop out and go "by the by, I'd like to take your soul, and buy you another slice".
Plus I dyed my hair back to it's normal dark(er) hue. The lightness was freaking me out - it wasn't really a real hair colour, almost orange or something. Not very pretty. Now it is. :D Yess.
Plus I feel somewhat smarter. :D
I can't wait for Thanksgiving!! Soooo loooking forward to real food, kitties, having fun. Erg. The cats are something I miss the most about home. Cats homefood and Keegan. And Cat and Mom and Dad. Then my friends, but most of y'all aren't in the Valley, so what does it matter? I miss you anyways tho, don't get me wrong guys. Well, Alisha who reads this, and then Jill but, dude you're like four floors down.
God I need to sleep.

I hate Porcelain
look i put up a slide show.
ten points to me.
I've been really sick the past week, but thankfully it's toned down to just a fever and an occasional headache. No more puking!! Yey. Other than that not much to report - Cat, as it turns out, isn't coming to hang for a few days... and....I got an A on my anthropology exam. Woo.
Nothing else. Goodbye.

FINALLY MY CAMERA IS HERE!!!!!!!
Cody grabbed the mail this morning and BAM there was my camera! So happy!!! It's nicer than I thought it'd be too:) I'm going to go bundle up and take pictures some time today and post them! YEY!
PLUS I got 100% on my physics homework today. Awww yeah.

Canada has socialised asskicking; it's called "hockey"
So today was kinda crappy, although it got better at the end. I'll skip the crap and go to where Jill Ayla (her roommate) and I went on a girls' night three way date thing. We hit up the College Coffee House (which is kinda like Vags, only not so good), and got coffee and pastries. Then we went to the mall and shopped around until closing. We found a hair salon (mostly for Ayla, who wanted a hair cut and dye - Jill and I are cheap and doing the boxed thing), and a nail salon (the guys there didn't speak good English and tried to get all three of us to get full sets ROTLFMAO no). Then we kinda just came home at 8 something. Woooo. Next time we're gonna make a real deal of it, go shopping, do nails (ourselves?) movies, snacks, the whole five yards. Nine yards.
I really hate the way water tastes here, but I hate buying water because that just seemselitist snobby and wrong, and... wrong? blah.

It snowed for the first time today. I'm not especially thrilled, especially since now the trail to the Tilly is all slippery.
Other than that, not much to report. I'll try and put some pictures up later tonight. :S

Getting hot hot hot
So I burned myself with soup - because I'm just that awesome - and have spent the last 2 1/2 hours trying to making the burning feeling stop. Jill took me to the store for apple cider vinegar, which helped a little but still burned, so Cody took me to get Lanacane which has helped some... ouch :s

TGIF Mate
OH THANK YOU IT IS FINALLY FRIDAY!!
I am sooo worn out this week. I had a test in Justice, a test in Anthropology, and a test in Physics. Plus several papers for english. Halo 3 came out this week, and I really didn't care until the people who decided that they needed to run up and down the stairs, slam doors, scream holler bang and yell all night long. I hate games. If it was the night of the HP release, it would have been SILENT (with maybe some cell rings going off as people texted "where r u in HP?" and "ZOMG WTF?!"). But no.
This weekend is the big Blue and Gold game at the Patty Ice Rink which I'm covering for The Sun Star. One of my bonfire pictures got into this week's issue, which made me happy ($25/picture!), but I wish my camera had been here so the quality would have been better (I used a Kodak easy share thing. NOT my camera of choice). According to walmart.com, my camera is somewhere between here and Earth City, MO. meh.
OH! Jill and I got our noses pierced on Wednesday! It was kinda scary, but we're very happy with the results. Pictures to come (soon).
I promise I'll try and keep in better touch with everyone!!!

Toga dance disaster
So there was a Greek-themed dance in the Hess Rec. Jill and I went, dressed in sheet-togas, just to ahve fun. There was a creepy guy who danced with me, but he was WAY to close, so I ran up and got Cody and he hung around for a while before heading back up stairs to rest a bit. Jill and I stayed until almost 1 (that's like three hours), dancing without stopping. Then I finally got back and took a shower, crashed. Only, not really, coz I feel like my stomach is empty, but at the same time very nauseated, and I have a really bad headache. :S I wish I were home.

First College Post (Gad that's bad)
Hello!
So this is my first post since I got to UAF almost a month ago. Holy crud. I love being in college! UAF campus is absolutely gorgeous - it kind of reminds me of Upstate New York. It's more hilly than mountainous like South Central, and there's more of a fall here; not just crappy yellow cottonwoods, but some orange-y colours and even reds. :D I'm uberpissed at Wal*Mart for canceling my camera order TWICE now. So hopefully it'll go through this time.
I might have a job at the University's newspaper, The Sun Star, as a photographer/journalist. I already have my first assignment - I'm covering Starvation Gulch this weekend. Starvation gulch is a big bonfire, party, thing that the university puts on. Sounds like lots of fun. Tonight there's a dance, Toga themed. Kinda freaked, but fun.
Other than that, things are going swimmingly, I love my classes except for english and anthropology. English is horrible because my teacher is a jerk. But the class is really easy - I've gotten really good grades on my papers so far. Anthropology is difficult because my professor is German, and his English is difficult to understand most of the time. That and he says "like" at least 130 times every lecture (they're only an hour long) and he doesn't seem to have a purpose or direction to his lectures. But I love Justice and Physics. Love them.
Yey. A post.
