Finally some fun!

Today I hung out with Nicky, my friend from high school, who just moved up here with her husband. I haven't gone off campus since Cody came up two weeks ago so it was really nice to get out on the town! She was really sweet and bought me lunch, then we went to her hair appointment at Elements Salon (which is really really nice), and we hit up walmart for some groceries, scarf material and a calc for me. We went to her house and started to do ear candling, but the candle was scary and flamed really high, and smoked alot and Nicky decided it was a not good idea today lol. So she dropped me off at the dorms and I'm really happy with my day, except that Private Practice isn't online so I don't know what I'm gonna watch when I'm knitting. HULU IT!

Fill in

I'm the worst blogger ever, and now I have to do a mass update.

I've been spending most of my time (that's not dedicated to class) listening to Jane Austen novels and knitting baby caps for Knit One Save One, which is a charity organization that collects knitted baby caps and sends them to new mothers in poor countries (along with a kit with other useful things that will help their baby survive). Before I started this, I could only knit scarfs, so if you don't know how to knit there are TONS of resources on the net, and you have no excuse! Learn and then knit while you watch TV. Save a baby.

School is going well, I have an A in my biology class, and I got the third highest score in the class on our last test. My math class isn't doing as well; I bombed my first test which took my grade from a 99.9% to a 73%. So I'm working harder, taking better notes, and getting a math tutor.

Cody is coming up this weekend to spend time with me, he'll be here sometime tonight and won't leave until Tuesday afternoon! We're going to go on a movie date and maybe go to Chena Hot Springs :D I'm excited. I'm really anxious and hate waiting.

Back to my Jane Austen-ing; so far I've downloaded five J.A. novels, and have listened to Mansfield Park, Persuasion, and Sense and Sensibility. I frickin' love Jane Austen. I own the A&E version of Pride and Prejudice (it's like 5 hours long) and I watch it sometimes when I knit on the weekends. I have all of her novels all collected in one of those giant old fashioned -looking hardbound books that you get at Barnes and Noble (aka the best place EVER).

I tried making a poor-man's mocha and failed. I think I messed up making the coffee; my coffee maker's kinda off, I might have to get a new one. LAME. It's really nice to have around for making hot water for tea or top ramen or oat meal (pretty much what I live off of anymore).

I think I'm going to draw a pretty picture for my wall because there's a blank spot that's bothering me.
